Dent Pulling
When
trying to remove dents in aluminium, the most difficult part of
the job is getting a fixing on the surface of the panel prior to
pulling. At Wielander and Schill UK Ltd, we have designed the AK
98 stud fixer. This tool is designed specifically for this job,
and can be used on all types of aluminium panels.
Now
it is possible on some vehicles, to repair damaged wings, quarter
panels or door skins instead of replacing them. This saves time
and is very profitable for the body shop.
The
AK98 stud fixer is used to weld studs onto the panel into the dent
or scrape that has to be repaired. The power of the transformer
can be adjusted to work on panels made by different manufacturers.
For example, an Audi panel will require a different setting than
that used for repairing a Range Rover.
Once
the studs have been fitted, you can pull the dent by using the Maxi-lift
lever, together with the claw or stud-clamping piece.
Whilst
you are pulling the dent out, warm the panel and then use a planishing
hammer to work the panel back to shape.
